We continue to strengthen our business and are now looking for an Associate Developer – Meaningful Societies based in Mumbai, India. The Associate Developer will contribute to the expansion and elevation of our product portfolio across markets as part of our development team.
This role will specifically focus on our international operations where Voluntas specializes in providing meaningful strategy, research, and evaluation advisory services in developing countries, conflict zones, fragile states, and transitional environments. With a proven track record of implementing projects in partnership with UN agencies, the EU, USAID, and other international organizations, we focus on generating evidence to inform strategic thinking, fact-based policy options, and operational decision-making. Our goal is to have a positive, sustainable impact on populations affected by crisis, improving their living standards and access to rights.

General requirements
- A computer science degree or 3+ years’ experience in web and desktop development
- Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
- Ability to navigate and implement common Python libraries, with strong experience in Django framework (experience with Django REST Framework and additional Django ecosystem tools is ideal)
- Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), AWS web hosting
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams with strong communication skills.
- Prior experience with survey tools, automation of content workflows, or document management platforms is a plus.

Main Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance tools for smoother data analysis such as multilingual transcripts and translation workflows
- Creating tools to organize, search, and visualize unstructured research data.
- Design and implement survey-building solutions
- Develop and refine new digital products such as monitoring automation and reporting platforms, with attention to user interface and productization
- Manage and expand internal platforms building modular tools to support business development Optimize both client- and server-side architecture for scalability and usability.
- Ensure responsiveness, functionality, and security across products and platforms.
- Test, debug, and upgrade software systems as needed.
